Tykerb approval problem anyone? URGENT

My daughter's insurance approved the Tykerb drug but now she can't seem to get the authorization through from the CVS warehouse group to ship it! She has waiting TWO WEEKS now!! She has called them and the doctor's office has called them several times and get the same answer - waiting authorization! Can anyone weigh in with advice on how to get this? My best to you all!

Find a lawyer (check with your local 'Legal Aid') and have him/her contact CVS headquarter on your daughter's behalf. If the 'authorization' is needed from the insurance company, then the attorney/representative needs to contact the insurance company.

We had encountered the same 'round'n round' when I was needing a special contract (for the 'out-of-network' hospital in our town)from my insurance company for my brain surgery in 1990. My boss (Director of our local public library at the time) had had some experience working in a law firm and she was able to tactfully persuade the 'Vice President' who's in charge of making the 'special contract' to get it done.

I also fought with CVS for Tykerb...I waited over 2 1/2 months because the oncolgist wanted to give it with Herceptin and not Xeloda and Caremark/CVS refused....I had already been on Xeloda for a year and a half and it quit working. I have a half a bottle if it helps, I will send it since I am no longer on it///it is good till mid 2011. I also have all my paperwork from my appeals if you need that....let me know, send me a private email at
