Hi everyone
Soon I will be back on herceptin only and already have persistent sinus problems..faceache and headache. Has anyone got a favorite treatment for this?
I was on herceptin for 4 years before and it began to drive me nuts..affecting my sleep and so on.

Jackie,
Try use a steamer for your nose. You can boil some water and just breathe in the steam - it will clear your sinus.
Have you got it checked out to be sure it's a sinus issue? I think it's some kind of x-ray.

Hi
Yes a CT scan shows inflammation of the sinuses 8 months after going off herceptin. It has got a lot worse since I went back on abraxane and herceptin 15 weeks ago.
I will try a steamer.

Hi Jackie
I also have sinus issues since being on herceptin. A friend of mine persuaded me to buy an air purifier for the bedroom and lounge. I put olbas oil in it and have found it works really well. I was very sceptical at first that such a small (and relatively cheap device) could work but the sinus issue is much better.
Hope this is some help.
Please let us know how your treatment is going.

I use Ocean Nasal Spray every day....don't know what I would do without it..when things were really bad while on Herceptin and Avastin, i would use a Nettie Pot....Ahhhhhhhh relief!!!!

The nettie pot is absolutely wonderful. I had nasal surgery last year and doc said to do it. I do it now about 3 or 4 time a week. Highly recommend it!!!

I also use the Ocean Spray irrigation product everyday (I buy mine at Costco) and if it gets really bad, I use my Kaz personal steamer which I owned and used long before I got breast cancer

My pulmonary doc also prescribed fluticasone propionate--one spray each morning. My nose no longer runs which is terrific. I think the Ocean Spray has also helped me from getting any virus colds.
