I need some advice. I just got the results of my ELISA test and it is 23. 2. When I had my PET-CT scan on Dec. 28th, they found a 1.3 cm nodule in my right lung. Uptake was just over 2 points so in low possible metabolic range.

I have not had my brain MRI since June, should I ask for a Brain MRI?

My next infusion is on the 28th of January for Herceptin.
Should I see the doctor before then?

Amelia,

I am just wondering, are you not on anything other than Herceptin for your lung nodule? Her2 Elisa is very reliable for me except during the mestrual period. But each individual may be different. I think it is better to approach your oncologist. Brain MRI is a good thing to do if you didn't get it recently.

Cal-Gal,

This is a test developed by Bayer that evaluates the following: The serum extracellular domain of HER2 is shed into the circulation and can be elevated in the serum of women with metastatic breast cancer.

I have to go next Thursday to see a doctor about my thyroid. The SUV on it was 4.5. It will be interesting to see if my HER2 count is high in this area. My thyroid has always had a high uptake of glucose when my PET-CT scans have been done.

I had my thyroid biopsied in 1998. I always wondered if the goiter or mass I have in it caused my BC.

Amenda,

Is it also called the Her2 Serum test?
