Happy New Year everyone!!!
I just opened my Aetna statement my Co-pay increased from $15 to $255 for treatment #27--for treatments #1-#26 the Co-pay was $15--so for the first 6 months it was $15 a treatment--or $390.00 total that I paid.
I haven't received the statement yet for treatment #28--
I am in shock and since it is the holiday, I cannot call Aetna or my Onc office-
Has anyone else had this happen? halfway through the one-year of Herceptin????
I just calculated that this will run me $7,000.00 with Onc visits in Co-pays for the next 6 months--there is no way I can do this--my COBRA payment goes up to $500 in 2 months-- I am single, unemployed, living with gracious friends and on Cobra-lost my job due to the bc.
I do remember someone mentioning that Genentech has a foundation to help people pay for Herceptin treatments? is that true?
Thanks so much for letting me 'freak' out---
