I hope I can offer some Hope to someone. 11-28 marked my second year of knowing that I had cancer. I never thought that I would live two more years. Yeah, I have, and I look forward to many more. I have been NED since April 16, 2008. I have my PET scan on 12-28.

I joined this board during February 2008, and I found Hope from all of you. The day I joined was one of the darkest days of my BC journey. I had just gone to the oncologist and found out that AC had not worked at all on my BC. I took Taxol and Herceptin on a Thursday; and, on Saturday night, I could feel the tumor being destroyed. One of the greatest feelings I have ever had.

All of you, your stories, and research helped me to get to where I am today.

I hope that all of you on this board receive blessings for the help and encouragement that you have given me and continue to give to me daily.

Dear Amelia -
You have fought hard to reach and stay with NED. Just keep your dance card full - with NED's name on it!

You completed the HER2 vaccine, so now just let your body work with the Herceptin and before you know it, you will see another 2 years pass by, then another and another. Just don't forget to blink!

Congratulations Amelia! I am working on my second year. I found my lump July 08 and then found this board this past August. I took me a year to feel like using the computer after the surgery, A/C, and then Taxol with Herceptin and lapatinib. Now I have finished all that (just completed everything three weeks ago) and am getting ready to have my first cataract removed next Tuesday. I am one of those unlucky ones to develop those as a result of all that Decadron. Oh, well, those two surgeries will be a "walk in the park."

I too am so happy that I found this board! I have only met one other person, down in Jacksonville at Mayo, with HER2+ breast cancer. It helps so much to talk to and learn from others who understand what I am talking about. I can't tell you the number of people who have made comments about breast cancer being no big deal. Little do they know!

I hope you have MANY more of these cancerversaries!!!
