Just wanted to let you know that I will be traveling to Chicago next Wednesday for Gamma Knife---I sure hope it works!

Once I get back then I should be able to start on the 2nd type of chemo and maybe get rid of this stuff for a while.

So please prary for me on Thursday that all goes well.....

Dear Barb -

I am SO glad to hear this news.
Gamma Knife is a really easy procedure. You will get an Ativan if you want to help you relax. I took 1/2 and did not really need that. There is no pain involved, and your head will be fixed to the machine so you do not even have to hold completely still. The program for bombarding the mets will cause the machine to make the very small adjustments.

Are you taking the Decadron? Hope you can wean off soon if you are. That was the worst part of the whole brain mets thing for me!
