Hello all,

My sister-in-law is sending me these( along with other supplements) to help with concentration and focus.

I'm not that familiar with these, what are the pros & cons of taking these 2 supplements?

thanks for you input,

'lizbeth

Found something on the first one (pycnogenol) on Medline Plus:

L-Thyrosine seems to be one of the 20 amino acids we get from our protein intake. It is not listed on Medlineplus and the only information I could get was from the web - most likely provided by the commercial sites that sell the supplement. The following is from Wikipedia (L-Thyrosine is mentioned at the very end of the article):

Good Morning, 'Lizbeth. Pycnogenol is also known as pine bark extract. It is a potent antioxidant and is sometimes used to homeopathically treat ADHD. Animal studies show some protection of cardiotoxicity from some chemo agents, however, if you are in active treatment right now there are also some known interactions between the supplement and chemo/radiation because of its antioxidant properties. Taking Tyrosine is probably not harmful but use caution if you are on any anti-depressants as there can be interaction with some anti-depressant drugs. If you have questions on any of the other supplements you receive recommendations for please feel free to post and I will be happy to research for you.
