Surgery this morning...oophorectomy...tubes too. Went well, took about an hour and I was home by 1:00pm Took a 4 hour nap and the kids (and grandson!! yay!) just brought over pizza. Bette is taking good care of me. I am a litttle sore. Laparoscopic, so I have 3 little holes and a bandaged belly button. The doctor said everything looked normal but sent it out to the lab. I should know by next Monday but I have a pretty good 'gut feeling'(oooooh bad) that all is well. Thank you all for your prayers, well wishes and information. You are all great!! XO Suzan

Yaaay! Welcome home. My gut tells me your gut is gonna be fine, too. Should give us all some peace of mind now that it's done and you've just improved your odds even more. Life is good. Enjoy the pizza.

Hi Suzan,
Glad to hear how it went and that you are doing fine. Your other comment about diabetes is unfortunately accurate and I very much hope you will not have to deal with that.
My best to you and Bette,

Hi Suzan,
Glad everything went well. I had an oophorectomy in Feb 08 and it turned out the golf ball sized cyst was benign. But they didn't know at the time so I have a nice big scar from belly button on down....lovely!
Best wishes for a fast recovery (you sound like you are doing very well!)
If you get gas pains they will show up in your shoulder. I'm not kidding!! I was in hosp. for 4 days after my ooph and when my shoulder starting killing me with pain the nurse said the air from the surgery goes there, of all places. Heat helps relieve it.
All the best,
Diannes

Hi again Suzan...Your post about finally moving your bowels make me chuckle because when I had hysterectomy last October, the gals on the gyne floor at the hospital said that there isn't anyone who celebrates "poop" as much as gyne nurses and patients! I'm thinking that my sis, who has had bowel issues with her AC treatment, is also among the celebrating! We laugh at how much our conversation focuses on the bathroom following her chemos. While we try to find humor, I also know that the ability to "go" isn't to be taken lightly. I'm glad you are past that hurdle. Now, on to recovery! Cheering you on.....

Great news Suzan, glad your surgery went well and that everything is "moving" right along:)
