When I was first dx with 18 nodes, I thought this was it for me. I had three short term goals. I have reached two of them and the other is right around the corner.

On Tuesday, I celebrated my husbands 20th year of being clean & sober.

Today, I will celebrate his grandson's (he was married before) second birthday. I was in the middle of AC when he was born and I so wanted to see him grow up a little.

Next month, I turn 40 and God willing I'll be here. I am so grateful to have these experiences. Now, I need to figure out some long term goals to keep me going.

Thanks for letting me feel safe to share this with you.

So happy that you continue to fulfill your goals. I am thankful for the good things that you have and I know that as you set new goals, you will be here to meet them.

Hi Tonya,

We do view these milestones differently...in our "prior life" we may have missed them altogether.

Congratulations on recognizing these...and may you pass many more!

Congratulations, Tonya, on reaching your goals! You set important, worthy, measureable goals, and you met them. Like you said, you need to sit down and set a few more and work to meet those as well. You can do it! Thanks for being an inspiration to us all.

I totally get it. Great job on having those concrete, short term goals. You will start to believe that you can make longer term plans, too. In the meantime, keep loving life every day!

Each and everyone of your goals reached is incredible! I'd love for one of your goals to be that you will get very old and goofy and wabble around a bit as you "kick up your heels" and continue to pour yourself into life!

I always took everything for granted before cancer. Then after my initial diagnosis, I had little hope for anything. I then started setting my goals by 6 months. I am finding that now I venture out even further and let myself believe that I may indeed be here to see my little girl grow up and my son marry. I am still afraid and cautious but getting more hopeful. It doesn't hurt us to set goals does it? ..sherryg683
