Sometimes, when my thoughts are sad, I read poems to think of other things than cancer. There is particulary one poem that gives me hope and a peaceful mind. It is written by a norwegian poet; Olav H. Hauge - who died in 1994.
I LOVE this poem, and when I noticed a man named Robin Fulton had translated it into english I really wanted to share this with you all. My hope is that some of you will be comforted by this poem.
OK here it is:
IT'S THE DREAM
It's the dream we carry in secret
that something miraculos will happen
that it must happen-
that time will open
that the heart will open
that doors will open,
that the rockface will open
that springs will gush-
that the dream will open,
that one morning we will glide into
some little harbour we didn't know was there.
