Hi,
I started doxil about 9wks ago after being on continuos chemo for 7yrs without once getting a NED. The first cycle was Ok but the 2nd one knocked me out. A lot of fatigue and shortness of breath, peeling of skin on hands and foot. A rash al over my body which was itchy and a lot of bone pain. I have mets in my lungs and wide spread bone mets. The pain in my lower hips ( sacro illiac area) is getting intolerable and cannot sit for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. Lying down is worse, something is getting stretched and have pain like sciatica. The pain specialist has upped the dose of the duragesic patch and Arcoxia and to take oxynom if for break thru pain. The next step is to put me on a opiate pump. Ultracet has stopped working for me. Has anybody taken or is on doxil. Please let me know if you undergoing similar side effects. I would also like to hear from girls who are on pain meds to contol bone pain. Anybody using the pump would like to benefit from your knowledge. Thank you all in advance and lots of hugs.

I haven't any experience with your chemo or the pump, but my sister did use the pump on two occasions for pain. She thought it was wonderful. She felt the fact that she had control over when to administer the pain relief was a great benefit. Her pain was in her hips and back. It does give you one more "contraption" to manage, but her experience was very positive.

Hope things get better soon!
