Hello,

I am new to the group. I have a question or two. I'll start with this, I am er/pr/her2+. I had LBC. The cancer was 1.7cm with small but clear margins. No lymph nodes involved and no vascular invasion. I had a lumpectomy and then started chemo. 4 x a/c, 2 x taxol with 2 more to go. I had two herceptin treatments but got a horrible rash and so that treatment was stopped. I still have 6 wks of rads to go and the 5 yrs of tamoxifin. Is there anything else? I feel that is a pretty good treatment but I don't know enough about her2+. I guess with LBC you are at higher risk for bi latereral BC add the her2+ and hormones in the mix, being overweight. I feel doomed! I figured I would get the treatment, lose as much weight as I can, keep an eye on things, and cross my fingers. Is there more I should do?

Hi again! I also had Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. After researching as fast as I could...I opted for a bilateral mastectomy because it seemed that ILC has a higher percentage of recurrence in the unaffected breast at some point in the future. Even though my tumor was small I also had ILC 'in situ' and my biopsy did not get a clear margin. After surgery, there was no more cancer found in either breast. One of the most difficult aspects of all these treatment options for me has been trying to decide what is best without a crystal ball!!!

Hi Suzan,
Thx for the reply. You are 100% right. The decisions are tough. I am glad you have had great results.
