My CA 15/3 has never really been a good indicator for me. Is there something else I could ask for instead of that one? Am I off on that or is there a CA 27-29?

Tumor markers have never been a good indicator for me. Upon my initial diagnosis of Stage IIIc my tumor marker was 15.3 which is well below the "normal" of 35. It never moved up.down more than a point or two. Right now my oncologist is using the HER2 serum test as an indicator for me along with any sympotms I may develop. I have the HER2 serum test done every 12 weeks and so far it's been well below normal.

I use two tumor markers CEA and CA 27-29. I stopped using 15-3 well over a year ago. Tumor markers are not always accurate for some. My markers have always been accurate as I have scans to confirm these.
Best of Luck to you.

I have always used the CA 27-29. That's the only test for TM's I've ever used, and it has been very accurate for me.

Ask your onc about it, just in case it might be a good indicator for you.

My onc also used the Ca27/29 but it has never really been elevated for me. Guess if it did go up, I'd really have something to worry about!

My onc has always used CA15.3 and it has always been a phenomenal indicator for me... for 4 years! Sounds like I am an anomaly in this group.

I plan to ask about the her2 serum test also in the future.

I get a CA 27-29 and CEA every 3 months.
