View Full Version : "Intermediate Risk"

As for what I know now... I'm Stage 0, node (SNB) negative, ER+/PR+/HER2+++ with IDC, grade 2, small tumors (.3 cm largest).

We didn't get clear margins but hopefully will get that next Tuesday at re-excision. Hopefully there is only a small bit of DCIS left in there.

From looking at a chart on NCCN (I believe)... the grade 2 and the HER2+++ puts me in what a decision table called the "intermediate risk" category.

Does that usually indicate chemo? I'm not stressing... just curious at this point.

Also, is herception only given in conjunction with chemo or is it given on it's own?

Appreciate any responses! Thanks folks!

When adding up the tumors, how many cm do you get to?

Not bad, I mean if you have to have cancer. Answer Becky's question as I'm sure she'll have good advice.

My wild guess would be to get an oncotype test to see if chemo is worthwhile. BB

Becky,

I think my path just said 2 foci of IDC largest of which is .3 cm so I would assume total to be .6 or less. Well, that's what we know as of now. Til this next excision. Hopefully they won't find more.

Thanks,

Skeetur

Oh, believe me, I'm very grateful for the size of the tumors, grade, etc. My sister was diagnosed with ILC much larger size and node involvement last year so I do know.

Thanks!

Just posting again so your question doesn't go unanswered. BB

I think Jean was in a similar situation, perhaps she will be able to inform you...she was advised by Dr. Slamon.

Was your sister her2 positive, by the way?

No, my sister was HER2-.

Thanks!
