I can't for the life of me remember WHO! Or WHERE for that matter... but thought it was someone here on this site who had the IMRT for their brain mets. I ask for a gal, who's post to another board still has questions. I do hope someone remembers and can help her:

Thank you for your kind message to my original post. I finally have a
treatment plan ... have been a little down because it took so long. I
know that I have to have patience but I was leaving messages, they would
call back at five so I would call the next day and then the same thing
would happen so it became a little nuisance.

I am having five treatments; they are treating five areas (5x to largest
area of cerebellum, 1 to another area of cerebellum, 1 treatment each to
two areas of the temporal lobe and 1 other area that is escaping me now.
I will ask about it today. Today is the second treatment.)

Has anyone had this Novalis to the brain? If so what were the side
effects? Short term, mid term, long term? Anything you can offer would
be great. He said that we would do scans again in 6 weeks; it may show
nothing or some swelling; but not to get discouraged as that is normal.
I should see something positive after 10 weeks; I am on Decadron now for
swelling but it is kind of ironic that it controls swelling in the
brain, etc. but causes you to be bloated and puffy.

Anything would be appreciated. I live in Nashville and am work awaiting
to go to the doctor for treatment; I only want to be outside because it
is absolutely gorgeous weather, slight breeze ... blue sky ... a little
sun and high 70's. A truly perfect day. I wish the Novalis Machine could
obliverate the tumors outside but maybe I will dream about it.
Thanks, Cristina

and thanks from me,

HI Patty, I hope you get outside quickly in this beautiful weather!

While I had whole brain and yours is more focused, I had lesions in my cerebellum as well that seem to be the primary cause of my symptoms after radiation. I would get unsteady, wobbly, have a mild headache and just feel like I needed to use a cane for balance. I went on decadron after rads, low dose, and it did help. I keep asking when it will go away, but they just shrug so who knows. It has gotten better.

You are such a brain trooper! I wish you all the best. Rads especially to the brain are such a drag!

Hugs,
Rosie
