hello ? i wannted some frame of reference for a gamma knife clinic. This is what i want and i hope some of you can help. Please don't be offended but i don't want to hear about omegas right now or even 'ive had one brain tumor and now i'm skiing'. This is so serious, i had 10 braib tumors and had wbr. The mris show a reduction each time. But i am proactive, i'm not content with sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop. susan

Susan,

When did you have your WBR? It may take several months for the tumors to resolve themselves. If after time, you still have some tumors, you can receive Gamma Knife treatments to treat individual tumors.

Hi Susan -
I know this is a freaky disease, especially when it starts messing with the insides of your skull. I am fighting two tumors that keep bedeviling me whether they are radiation necrosis or the real thing coming back. It is NOT fun.

This link will take you to a site that lists all Lexcel Gamma Knife centers in the USA. Just scroll down to the state you live in or a nearby center. Almost every state as at least one.

I get the feeling you do not like the plan your docs are advocating of waiting a little longer. Maybe they need to do that so they will have a better idea of which spots still need some work. (Deciding which spots are still tumors can be difficult - I know about this firsthand.) It does take a while and as long as the spots ARE shrinking and no new ones are showing on the scans, that is a good thing.

Hope you find some helpful info here for a second opinion.
