Hello,

Been awhile since I logged in to this wonderful support site. Anyway, I have been doing 1 year prevention herceptin since 1 Sep, and started having jaw problems around this time - does anyone else suffer with this. I am concerned that it has something to do with going through the herceptin, as I had absolutely no problems before. When I ask my oncologist and family doctor, they say they don't know. Yesterday, it was so bad I couldn't eat - maybe not such a bad thing since the herceptin, I have gained about 10-15 lbs - doctors also say they don't know that to be a side effect. I shouldn't complain, because I am still here. Any help in this area is greatly appreciated.

Hugs,

Barb H.

for example zometa or boniva or other bisphosphonate? They are antiosteoporosis drugs which are given for bone mets (and may have antitumor properties of their own) which have been tied to osteonecrosis of the jaw on rare occasions.
