Hi, My name is Sue and I found this site while surfing. What an awesome site! Wish I had found it a few years ago when I had so many questions. I belong to a local breast cancer support group but I am the only one with HER2+++. As I read the messages on this site I can relate to so many things and empathize with so many of you.

My history: Diagnosed on January 11, 2001 at age 41, Stage 3, 3 separate tumors in breast, 4/13 lymph nodes +, ER/PR-, Highest grade, Mastectomy, took part in the NCCTG N9831 Herceptin trial, 4 cycles dose dense AC, Taxol weekly for 12 weeks, then Herceptin for one year, with radiation shortly after end of Taxol. I am cancer free at the moment and feel so lucky that I was able to receive Herceptin.

I do have some long term side effects of treatment: lymphedema, neuropathy, and trouble swallowing but I would much rather deal with side effects than the alternative!

So glad I found this site and look forward to meeting others. Sue

((Sue))

I too am in a local BC support group and am the lone Her+. I feel like an oddity with them as no one else has ever heard of Her+ and frankly aren't interested in it.

I'm sorry you must be here, but as you've already discovered this *IS* the place for us.

Please let us know how you fare.

Hugs, Deborah

Sue-

welcome - there is a wealth of knowledge here.

having an absolutely non-medical background, i too became amazed at the many different types of breast cancer, and how 4 moms at my children's school are all being treated so differently (and appropriately) because we all have different types of cancer...
