Hi ladies -

I know you both are on Abraxane and wanted to see how you are doing.

I just came from my visit with my onc. after completing my third course. She always takes my tumor markers and we discuss the next course. I was a little nervous this time since my whites/reds/platelette have been so good through this course. I was thinking maybe the chemo had stopped working.

My results of my markers were CEA - 7 (down from 19 last month) and my 15-3 was 51 (down from 54 last month' visit). Without taking any scans at this time, she feels that things are going well, and that I am tolerating the drug very well. I have developed a little neurapathy in my finger tips but not bad.
I do the three times with one week off which has worked out well.

I will start my 4th course on Friday and then recheck again after course completed.

Let me know how you both are coming along and how you are tolerating. Hopefully this drug will work well for alot of people, since it seems to be easier to take.

I am doing well. Only side effects first few days, then I feel perfect. Counts down only a little. Markers, I will let you know next time.

Irene, being on the weekly abraxane did you loose your hair? Patty H

Yes, unfortunately I lost it all within two weeks (just a little fuzz left)

But my blood counts seem to be tolerating the chemo very well and I feel great. Do not know if it is because of the breaking it down in smaller doses, but seems to be working for me.

Yes, unfortunately I lost it within the first two weeks (just a little fuzz left)-
But my blood counts seem to be maintaining a good level and I have not had to skip any treatments and that's a good thing.

Will you be starting on Abraxane?
