I want to share with all you guys the good news I heard today.
As you know from my previous posts that my onc. denied Herceptin because my MUGA was 44%. Well It indeed was a computer mistake(I still can't believe it myself) My oncology nurse called me today to say that all the people who had MUGA that day got a low score because of a computer problem. She called me to come and get the Herceptin infusion immediatley. I just got the infusion now. (it is delayed by one week from the original schedule becuse of their mistake).
The past two weeks had been a heart wrenchig experience.
I really want to thank all of you for support me in this bad situation by listening and giving your valuable suggestions.

Julie,
The news is simply great. A weeks delay is nothing to worry about. Christine has cancelled her appointment several times and rescheduled for a week later.

You certainly have taught us a lesson. If test results are unexpected ask for a retest. !!!

Warmest Regards
Joe

Gosh Julie, that's just the best news! And I agree with Joe, what a good lesson for us all; when in doubt question, question and question!

I completely agree with Joe on this. A year ago I had a CT scan come back saying my liver mets had increased in size. I questioned it, since my liver enzymes and CA 27-29 results were really good.

A treatment change hung in the balance. They re-checked my scans, and said it was an interpretation error.

It never hurts to double check in a situation where action or inaction will have a real impact on us.
