I wish there was a way to bump up topics on this board--it's a shame that the topics with the most recent replies/responses aren't first on the list--then we could see the most active topics at the top....anyway...
Al, thank you for your research and information and support! I agree with what you said about the importance of all of us continuing to ask questions and share information....my radiation oncologist has told others via email that I understand her field amazingly well, a field she says that other MDs don't always understand. Because of the 80-page report and recommendation I wrote to my HMO and copied to many others within (and outside) my health care system, I not only got approved for the radiation treatment method I proposed, but now the HMO is sending other patients to her, and she is out of plan! I am thrilled that other women are benefitting because I asked some questions and asked for services that I thought I needed.
So when you ask questions, insist on treatment that you feel is right, or present new information to your physicians that may positively affect your case, you may be helping many others in addition to yourself.
I am so glad I found this board. I have learned so much :-)
