I am readying to begin hormone therapy. My onc says the AIs are for effective for her2 + like me. I've a friend who was on Tamox now Arimidex - no problems. I'm reading that Femara is even better with fewer side effects.

Who's been on what with what side effects? I'm concerned about weight gain (still have 20 excess # from 2 chemo regimens.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm actually going to ask to have my mom put on hormone therapy today. I'll let you know which one they recomend.

I'm on Femara and was told this was the better drug of choice. I had my ovaries removed so that I could be on that drug. The weight gain could be from menopause and matabolism. My weight has stayed the same. I gained about 10-15 while I was on chemo and steroids. After radiation and I got a little more active I went back to my normal weight. Hope any of this could be of help. Sally

I have also read good things about Femara, but since I am hormone receptor negative, these drugs have no benefit for me. The menopause issue is the only stumbling block for this drug as far as I have read. Staying active is important not only to prevent weight gain, but for so many other reasons :-)

Good luck!
