Herceptin and Avastin

Dr. Mark Pegram at the Jonnson Cancer Center in Los Angeles is currently conducting a clinical trial using a Herceptin and Avastin combination.

Genentech announced last week that Avastin in combination with other chemotherapies has been shown to be effective.

Hi Joe,

An oncologist at Memorial Sloane Kettering mentioned to me today that the results of a trial combining Taxol and Avastin are very favorable and will be discussed at the ASCO meeting in mid May. Apparently the trial involved colon cancer, but this combination of drugs will most certainly be used in breast cancer treatment.
