Rich, I think it is encouraging as it seems from this study that the determining factor for Her2+ in the study group appears to be body mass index of >29, so if further studies show the same correlation it's further proof the maintaining a healthy weight is going to be an important defense against developing bc, especially her2+ bc. Thanks for the link!

It only makes sense that if BC or any cancers for that matter, were influenced by environmental toxins that mass index would be a significant contributing factor. Fat cells are known to be the chemical cesspools of the body. All of the toxins that go into the body, if there are not eliminated, are stored in fat cells (for further use??). Does HER2 facilitate the toxin / cancer link? Who knows but what is not under dispute: fasting is the best anti-ageing medicine increasing the life span of lab animals by over 50%.
Thus the importance of fluids when dieting: to flush away all the stored toxins.

Interesting point al. I had vaguely been aware of the benefits of fasting, and taking in alot of liquids, but hadn't really focused in on it.

This concept falls into the "can't hurt and just might help" area.

I know that I had seen a book where the author recommends fasting 1 day a week for better overall health. I think he recommended juicing on that day.

I"ll see if I can find the bood again. Thanks for bringing this point up Al!

I am only 128lb and 5'5'' tall, I don't know what caused me to have BC and I am only 37. I guess stress should also be a contributing factor as I was under mental stress the year before I was diagnosed.
