Comparison of immunohistochemistry (IHC) by automated cellular imaging system (ACIS) vs fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in the evaluation of HER-2/neu expression in primary breast carcinoma.
This abstract suggests that the "ACIS" image analysis system (ChromaVision CA) has been shown to improve accuracy and reproducibility in scoring IHC as compared to scoring IHC using conventional microscopy. In essence the abstract suggests that IHC tested under the ACIS system is superior to "vanilla" IHC testing.
