You stated: "previously treated with Celebrex which also contributed to the Heart Failure, "

I am wondering if you can say specifically what role taking this drug had to do with your heart failure. Perhaps the Cox2 inhibitor conflicted with some other med you took for another condition?
Just curious as I have been on Celebrex for almost 2 years as a prophylatic measure. My heart seems to be working ok so far on the herceptin/celebrex/zometa that I take, keeping me NED.

BTW -- my daughter had TWO prolapsed valves repaired in mid-December. Fortunately they were able to repair them (even tho they had the replacements ready should they be needed) so she does not need to be on the blood thinner the rest of her life. She is about to finish with the Warfarin and that will be it for follow up drugs. She did have a complication with some fluid build up in the heart sac, which caused terrific pain to appear in her left shoulder between her neck and the shoulder joint. Caused by the fluid pressing on a nerve. She was treated with some diuretics which did the trick and they did not have to go in with needles to draw it out. The fear was that there might be a clot, but NO, thankfully. I say, if possible have the shoulder done first!

Hi Steph, apparently Celebrex contains Sulphur and the reaction I get from it is severe fluid retention, the as salt. My Physician Thyroid/Heart said he wished docs wouldn't prescribe Celebrex, it isn't a cure it just masks pain. It was a great pain relief for my fractured shoulder, so now I have to take pain relief which doesn't last long.
