Hi All,
I just returned from my onc, and have several small but suspect new "lumps" above the collarbone and at the base of my neck, where I had the first recurrence. So, didn't receive my scheduled Herceptin as we will wait to see what the PET and brain MRI reveal. I don't have any symptoms of brain mets, but based on the recent discussions here asked for an MRI so we will know for sure, and he agreed it would be a good idea. I don't know yet when I'll have the PET, waiting to hear back from the nurse, but will keep you all posted. We didn't talk about which chemo yet, only that it would be added to the Herceptin.
So, my dears, now it's my turn to face the dragon again. I knew it was probably just a matter of time but am hopeing we've caught it early.
Keep me in your prayers.
Love and Hugs, Lolly

Oh Crap, Lolly.....
I hate it but you're right. It seems it is just a matter of time. I can accept that for myself, but I have no tolerance for it happening to others.
I'm so sorry. Hope it is confined to the nodes ONLY and whatever combo you pick does the trick for you again.
love and many hugs,

My prayers and good wishes are with you...you were one of the first people I talked to when I came to this board...my case is so similar...here is hoping if they find anything, it is early and the new medicine will give the Herceptin a boost...how long were you NED? Carry a big sword and all the love and hope on this board will help you slay the dragon again.
Hugs
Sheila
Lolly, I am SO sorry. Not that you don't have enough on your plate. But pull out the sword and win another one. We're all right beside you.
Love and healing light,
Lisa

Lolly,
I, too, am so very sorry to hear of your recurrence. I guess we all know that this is unfortunately the way it works. I just finished chemo for recurrence and started on herceptin alone, and as my oncologist told me...it can work for several years. When it stops...there are LOTS of other treatments we can try. I know they will find another magic bullet for you and before long you and NED will be doing the tango once again. My prayers are will you.

Hi Lolly, I am so so sorry, and all I can say is it is a @#%@ of a disease, just when I started to feel well after the carboplatin, my hubby and I woke up Monday morning with FOOD POISIONING!! i was praying for a miracle that the food bacteria might kill off the disease, but no such luck, I guess we are holding hands again seeing ours keeps getting us in the neck.
Lots of PrayersLove & hugs Lyn

I guess the thing is a second recurrance happens where you got the first one, my onc. says. I know how you hate to travel over this same road again. But Iknow you can do it! God will give you strength for the day. We always have carboplatin now and that works really well. Lean on us. We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. I know you will see NED again and take him back, even though he is a tad fickle. We still love him. May God fill you with His peace. Hugs, Lola
Hi Lola, not to seem impatient, but how long before you noticed a result, even slightly,

Lolly,
I am sorry to hear ole NED has decided to go dance with someone else right now but he'll come back. You have had the time in between to get your body back in shape for the fight and with all the new treatments (including carboplatin) I am sure ole NED will be running back shortly. Don't know if the last time you had weekly treatments, but they are so much easier on you and really seem very effective. I am just finishing up taxol/carboplatin/herceptin for liver mets as a precautionary measure. It basically knocked the crap out of those mets (largest being 6.8 cm) in 11 weeks of treatment. We're here for you. Take Care,
Kitty
