I am an avid outdoor athlete (running, biking and roller blading) and I also practice very vigorous vinyasa and bikram yoga nearly every day. Herceptin made me more tired than normal, and my muscles ached more than normal. It was harder to recover after workouts than normal. But for the most part, I kept up a very very strenuous workout routine, and I am now five weeks out of my treatments (15 months of herceptin after AC/T chemo) and feeling WAY WAY more energetic. I didn't realize that the herceptin had effected my energy level UNTIL I was done with it. I think you will be fine. Just don't get frustrated with yourself...

Thanks Lauren:

This is the type of information I was hoping to find so that I know what I can expect from myself. It is also good to hear that tiredness effects are not permanent. I think that exercise is really important not only to my long-term physical health, but also for my mental health.

If anyone else would like to tell me about their reaction to herceptin I would be interested in hearing it........ from what I can tell from responces to other questions on this site, they haven't got all the side-effects of herceptin down yet, because they sure aren't mentioning it in the literature that they are handing out with the trial information. Thanks, Merridith
