View Full Version : I need your help with the booklet...
Friends,
I need your help here. If you had the opportunity to ask one question to one type of medical researcher/practioner what would it be?
Nothing is too simple, too silly, or too crazy.
Love and light,
Lisa

Lisa,
I guess if we were talking her2, I would say my question would be how does it differ from other breast cancer, meaning how is it treated differently then say hormone positive and her 2 neg cancers. I know alot of people, even myself, didn't know that there were different kinds of breast cancer.

I would like to ask what is happening at the cellular level that causes diesease progression when you are her2nue positive and on herceptin? Is herceptin not working or is soemthing else going on? I hope that makes sense?!
Hi Lisa,
I hope you don't push this manual too hard as we know you have your path cut-out before you.
Knowing what I know now, assuming that tests have clearly shown that I am HER2+(++), I would ask "what are the recent pharmacological advances in suppressing the HER2 onco-gene (besides herceptine),and what has been your experience in this area?" If the answer is "not sure" and "little or no experience"; consider switching onc, a second opinion, etc. When research is moving at light-speed, why would you consider ancient medical history as an acceptable option?

I wanted to add the same question Jennifer asked, but my chemo-addled brain couldn't formulate it in a way that made sense! Thanks, Jennifer :)

Lisa,
My question is...
What progress is being made in research regarding crossing the blood/brain barrier that we face with chemo and Herceptin?
Love and Light right back at ya chickie..
