Hello to All,

Had my Ct scan yesterday and results were good.
This is after 18 treatments of avastin and taxol (clinical study) 3 weeks on, one off, 6 rounds or 6 months.
CT of brain-negative
Ct of chest-lung lesions and pleural effusion still gone-No new lesions
Ct of liver-has a little more shrinkage. I still have all 7 hypodense lesions. Largest is 2.1cm...was 2.6 on June 8th...so slight decrease. The other 6 are 1cm or less...again slight decrease. No new lesions. Doctor said the lesions don’t look like solid tumors...more mushy, like my gallbladder. It is very possible that these cells are dead. If this is the case it can take some time for them the go completely away or become scar tissue. (I am paraphrasing what he said). So, he is very happy that we are still making progress and we will stay on this same treatment. Tumor marker down more...these don’t work for everyone, but seems to be working for me. I am happy with my results!

Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers...couldn’t get through all this without all of you. My best to all, take care.

Warmly,

Judie

Sounds like this combo is working well for you! It's so wonderful to hear about good results...there has been lots of positive postings this week!
My sis's onc. mentioned that if she gets to a point, with her combo (Herc./Taxol), that the progress is slowing, we can add a third drug to the combo..he is thinking of Navelbine. That could always be option for you, perhaps. But, it sounds like you are doing just fine!
