Friends! We met with my oncologist today and my blood is positive for HLA A2, which is the first hurdle cleared on the road to the Herceptin Vaccine trial at U.of W. in Seattle. I also heard back from Andrea York today, and volunteers may be stable OR in remission, and off chemo for 30 days. So the million dollar question is do we suspend treatment now and go for the trial, as I am at the least stable, and may find I'm NED after the scanning process; OR should we be conservative and finish out the 3 months of chemo originally planned and hope the trial isn't filled by then...HMMMMMM!

Will keep you posted :D

Thank you Christine, and you know I probably wouldn't know about this trial if it weren't for you and Joe, so give yourselves a great big pat on the back!

Linda, I agree, it's an inspiring offshoot of the new treatment approaches. I posted a link on the Articles of Interest page to an educational tool discussing Immunolgy in detail. It's quite interesting if you want to know more.
