This is Peggy again. I had my initial port removed and then placed again after mets dx. I am also a very slender, small person and my port seemed to stick out a lot at first; I could never wear a car seat belt over it - just too uncomfortable. After a while it does recede a little on it's own. I've had this port for a little over a year and it's doesn't stick out quite as much and I am able to wear a seat belt over it now. Still, it was no problem removing the first one and putting in a second when that became necessary. I would do it that way all over again given the choice.
